🎉 BellwaldTEC celebrates 100 years of Basler Orthopädie!
This Friday, 21 August, Sara Bieri, Corentin Féry and Joris Pascal had the pleasure of visiting Basler Orthopädie René Ruepp AG to celebrate an incredible milestone: 100 years of innovative orthopedic and rehabilitation technology.
🎯 Visitors still have the opportunity to join the celebration tomorrow, Saturday 22 August, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Austrasse 109, 4051 Basel, Switzerland, discover a small museum describing the evolution of orthopedic devices, learn more about the history of the company, and receive a book documenting its history over the past 100 years.
📖 BellwaldTEC also has the honour of being part of the story told in this book.
Indeed, Thomas Ruepp, former CEO of Basler Orthopädie and shown on the right in the picture, developed the idea of a measuring stocking as early as 1991 and was way ahead of his time. However, the textile only became technically feasible much later, from the beginning of 2016, when Thomas Ruepp and Ralf Schumacher approached Prof. Dr. Joris Pascal from the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW.
🚀What started as an idea more than 30 years ago has since evolved into the smart sensor textile technology developed by BellwaldTEC, enabling digital shape reconstruction for orthopedic applications.
🙏 A big thank you to the entire Basler Orthopädie team for inviting us to celebrate this special occasion and for sharing 100 years of innovation, history, and vision with us!
